🗓️ Project Date: June 13, 2024
📍 Location: Zamzam IDP Camp, Sudan
🧾 Overview:
On June 13, 2024, GlobalNetPD hosted a Community Support Day at Zamzam Camp, where displaced women and children gathered for a day of emotional relief and connection. This initiative complemented our ongoing psychosocial support efforts in the camp, creating safe and nurturing moments amid hardship.
đź’ˇ Why It Matters:
Displacement doesn’t just strip families of shelter and security—it often erodes joy, dignity, and emotional wellbeing. For women and children especially, the effects of trauma can remain hidden. By creating space for connection, play, and shared experience, this initiative helped restore humanity and hope in a time of deep disruption.
🛠️ What We Did:
- Organized shared meals to create a welcoming, communal atmosphere
- Facilitated games and creative play activities for children
- Held safe group discussions and bonding circles for women
- Promoted emotional release through art, laughter, and storytelling

🌱 The Impact:
Dozens of women and children left the event smiling—many reporting that it was the first time they had felt “normal” in weeks. The day strengthened community ties, improved emotional wellbeing, and reinforced the importance of psychosocial care in crisis settings. This wasn’t just a one-day event — it was a vital reminder that joy is a form of healing.
