🗓️ Project Date: January 18, 2025

📍 Location: Al-Khansa Basic Girls School, Damazin, Sudan

🧾 Overview:

In partnership with the Gender Team of the TikTok Youth Initiative, GlobalNetPD hosted a psychosocial support event at Al-Khansa Basic Girls School in Damazin. The initiative aimed to uplift students emotionally and mentally ahead of their examinations, especially in a region where conflict and stress often overshadow the classroom.

💡 Why It Matters:

Girls in conflict zones face not only academic barriers, but also emotional and psychological ones. By combining psychosocial care with tangible school support, this initiative addressed two critical pillars: mental wellbeing and educational access. Creating emotionally safe learning spaces is crucial for restoring confidence, enhancing performance, and fostering long-term empowerment among girls in crisis settings.

🛠️ What We Did:

  • Hosted a community-supported psychosocial event for girls preparing for exams
  • Distributed school supplies to 150 students to reduce academic barriers
  • Delivered a motivational mental health lecture by local leaders and advocates
  • Provided refreshments to teachers as recognition of their resilience
  • Partnered with the Basic Education Administration and local government to champion girls’ education

🌱 The Impact:

The event left a lasting mark on both students and educators. Girls reported feeling more confident and motivated, while teachers and community members praised the supportive, collaborative atmosphere. By showing up for both emotional wellness and educational needs, GlobalNetPD reinforced its belief that healing and learning must go hand in hand.
